The opening Reception Party will be on Sunday 24
September at 18:00 at the cellar of the farm Boplaas.
The Congress Function will be on Thursday evening, more
detail will be supplied later.

Tuesday and Thursday will be spent on field trips to
the scenic and succulent-rich parts of the Little Karoo in
the vicinity of Calitzdorp, Oudtshoorn and Ladismith.
Knowledgeable guides will lead the trips. The trips
will include visits to conservation areas normally not
accessible to the public. Plants to be found in this area
include amongst others, Gibbaeum species, other mesembs,
haworthias, euphorbias, stapeliads, dioscorias and aloes.

Well-known and informed
speakers will give presentations
on a variety of topics related to
succulent plants and conservation.
Speakers include Bob Barth, Bruce
Bayer, Peter Bruyns, Brian Fearn,
Steven Hammer, Brian Kemble,
Gerhard Marx, Gideon Smith,
Ernst van Jaarsveld, Braam van
Wyk, Jan Vlok, Robert Webb
and Graham Williamson. A full
Congress programme will be
available later.
An interesting programme will
be arranged for partners of
participants who do not wish to
attend the Congress presentations.
Visits to the world famous Cango
Caves, ostrich and crocodile farms,
the spectacular geology of the
scenic Seweweekspoort, Swartberg
Pass and the nearby coastal area
and Garden Route around George
(all within an hour�s drive) can be
organised for partners of delegates.
There will be a very reasonable
charge for these trips.
This Congress will see the
reintroduction of the previously
popular plant sales. A variety
of succulent plants will be on
sale. Visitors will be assisted
in obtaining the necessary
documentation.
Expert guides will lead the field trips. Prospective delegates requiring
