Tour details:
* A briefing for the tour will take place on the Friday before the trip
* The trip will depart from Calitzdorp on 08:30 on Saturday 4 October
* Approximate time of return to Cape Town: 16:00
* The cost of the tour includes all accommodation, meals and soft drinks during the day.

Many succulent plants occur in the Little Karoo, far too many to list here, only a few examples are given. On this trip it will be possible to visit localities of nearly all species of Gibbaeum, the whole area is rich in haworthias, aloes, euphorbias, crassulas, stapeliads and many others.

Saturday: Calitzdorp - Oudtshoorn
In the Oudtshoorn area localities of plants such as Euphorbia mammillaris, Haworthia emelyae, etc will be visited. The route will lead through Heimersrivier ( Euphorbia clandestina, Haworthia truncata minor), Matjiesdrift ( Haworthia bayeri ), Uniondale ( Haworthia bayeri, Euphorbia clandestina, Aloe comptonii), Deugas (Euphorbia horrida, white form), back to Oudtshoorn

Sunday: Oudtshoorn - Matjiesfontein
Traveling through De Rust and Meiringspoort, visiting loacalities at Zwartkraal ( Euphorbia suppressa), Zeekoegat ( Euphorbia atroviridis, Pleiospilos nelii), Letjiesbos (Euphorbia stellispina, Euphorbia brevirama), Viviers Station ( Lithops localis)- Koup Station (Haworthia scabrispina, Euphorbia multiceps), Laingsburg (Haworthia pehlemaniae), the tour group will stop at Matjiesfontein for overnight accommodation.

Monday: Matjiesfontein - Calitzdorp
The group will travel from Matjiesfontein (Euphorbia eustacei) to Perdewater (Crassula barbata, C. tomentosa, Othonna, Euphorbia multiceps, Conophytum minimum, Didimaotus, Tanquana, Lithops comptonii, Pelargonium hystrix, Bulbine succulentum) via Konstabel station (haworthias), Fisantekraal (Haworthia lockwoodii), Varsbokkraal (Haworthia pehlemaniae, Astroloba bullulata), Rooinekpas (various haworthias like Haworthia wittebergensis and other succulents), Seweweeks Poort, Ladismith and onto Calitzdorp via the Huisrivier Pass

Tuesday: Calitzdorp – Barrydale
The route on this day will take the group to Vanwyksdorp (either over the Rooiberg Pass or via Ladysmith). Around Vanwyksdorp very interesting plants like crassulas and gibbaems are to seen. Travelling on to Barrydale via Lemoenshoek, numerous localities of plants like Haworthia emelyae v. major, Muiria hortense, a number of gibbaeums, Euphorbia susannae a number of stapeliads and many others will be visited

Wednesday, Thursday: Anysberg, Warmwatersberg area
Two days will be spent in the western Little Karoo where a large variety of plants such Gibbaeum, other mesembs, Euphorbia, Haworthia, stapeliads like Quaqua, Hoodia, Huernia etc, a number of Crassula, Adromishus and Tylecodon species, pelargoniums, sarcocaulons and many others are to be seen.

Friday: Anysberg - Robertson
We will travel through Montagu and onto Robertson. Localities of haworthia and others will be visited. In the Robertson district, typical succulent-karoo veld, mesembs are often dominant (for example the red Drosanthemum speciosum). Conophytum ficiforme, A. microstigma, Haworthia pumila , Haworthia reticulata, Gasteria disticha occurs in the area and the Crassulaceae is well represented: the largest species being Tylecodon paniculatus, (Botterboom), others are Cotyledon orbiculata and many species of Adromischus and Crassula. Other succulents include Euphorbia mauritanica, E. burmannii, E. nesemannii, Bulbine mesembryanthoides, succulent senecios, Pelargonium tetragonum, P. alternans and many stapeliads, Stapelia scitula is endemic here, and Tridentia gemmiflora is to be seen.

Saturday: Robertson – Cape Town
From Robertson, the tour will stop at Mowers Station (Haworthia pumila), Worcester ( Karoo Gardens) and to Cape Town arriving not later than 16:00, in time for flights back home. Accommodation in Cape Town for the night (and following nights) can be arranged on request).
