The group will fly from Cape Town to Windhoek where it will be met by our expert safari company.
This tour is spectacular with lots of camping and is not for the faint hearted, the rewards are great in that many small succulents as well as spectacular large succulent plants will be seen. The tour is a unique opportunity to visit this area with the well known botanist and expert botanical tour guide, Graham Williamson.

NOTE: Return flights should not be booked for departure before 10:00 on Saturday 9 September. If hotel accommodation is required in Windhoek on Saturday night, this can be booked for delegates. Friday 25 August:: overnight in Congress hotel, cost included in tour price.

Itinerary
Saturday 26 August
After a leisurely start to the day flight departs for Windhoek at 11.15am. The group will be met on arrival and taken to Hotel Villa Verdi. Afternoon spent exploring Windhoek.

Sunday 27 August
Depart at 08:00 and travel via Okahandja and Otjiwarongo to enter Etosha National Park at Anderson Gate and overnight at Okaukuejo campsite.

Monday 28 August
Full day exploring Etosha for game birds and plants return to camp for night

Tuesday 29 August
Depart early and travel through the restricted access western side of Etosha set up camp at Kativa Lion camp site.After lunch explore the botanically interresting Khorixas area.

Wednesday 30 August
Further exploration of the area doing a circuit to include Fransfontein and Otjikondo. Return to Kativa Lion camp to overnight. View rock art at Twyfelfontein.

Thursday 31 August
Early start for full day drive to Epupa Falls on the Kunene River.The route is via Opuwa north of which the group will come across the first baobabs of the trip.it is olso in this area that the interresting matriarchal Ovahimba tribe live. Set up camp on the beautiful river site.

Friday 1 September
Day to be spent exploring and botanising in the falls area, overnight at the campsite on the river.

Saturday 2 September
Return south and then after Opuwa travel into western Koakoveld to set up camp in the wild near the Hoarusib river.

Sunday 3 September
After breakfast travel south to the desert oasis camp at Palmwag viewing magnificent scenery and many plants on the way.

Monday 4 September
After breakfast explore the area around with the possibility of seeing the desert adapted rhino and elephant. Return at night to the Palmwag camp.

Tuesday 5 September
From Palmwag the group will travel west and enter the remote Skeleton coast at Springbokwater. After moving south down the misty Sceleton coast we will turn inland again at the Ugab river and overnight at a campsite to be set up at the foot of the Brandberg.

Wednesday 6 September
After exploring the foothills the group returns to the coast and moves south Swakopmund where the group will spend two nights.

Thursday 7 September
Leisure day in the picturesque town a visit will be arranged to the famous Welwitschia Vlakte, alternatively a boating trip can be taken to see the seal colonies, the dolphins and flamingos. inner will be arranged at one of Swakop's well known bars.

Friday 8 September
Start the return journey to Windhoek stopping overnight near Karibib in a camp site to be set up. In this area there are many spectacular plants to be enjoyed.

Saturday 9 September
Return to Windhoek for end of tour.
